Multiple Conundrums: Collateral Damage

You thought that Annie Ogden left all of those undead darlings behind in Italy in Zombie Candy? Think again. Annie, Salvatore and Annie's family are all about to discover how undead her boyfriend Michael really is.

Annie has finally gotten her life together. After losing her boyfriend Michael and serving time in the military overseas, she is happy once again, especially now that she is engaged to Salvatore. What could possibly go wrong? Everything, of course. What starts as a strange attack on the street during Annie's run turns into a weird blast from the past—one that she will have to deal with before she and Salvatore can be truly happy again.

Michael has come back from the dead. Well, actually, Michael comes back from Florida. Only Annie ever knew that Michael didn't really die. She just never wanted to explain the humiliation he had put her through in Iraq when they broke up. Salvatore, Annie's sister and other family and friends are shocked to hear the news. But will Annie have the will power to ignore Michael's advances once again? It's just the beginning of mystery, murder and intrigue for Annie, Michael and whole gang from the military at Michael's party, dangerously titled “Collateral Damage.” Although Michael wasn't there when Annie needed him, can she still find a way to be there for him in the face of a murder charge?

By far, this is the best yet of Brooke's Annie Ogden series. Not only do readers get to explore more of Annie's past, but the book still keeps the same humor and charm that makes the other books in the series so much fun to read. Anyone that like a good mystery will want to pick this one up.

About the book: When Annie Ogden’s ex-boyfriend Michael Garcia reappears, she has to confront a lie dating back to her time in Iraq. Will she go back to hot, passionate Michael, who has developed a disturbing interest in meth, or stick with her pudgy PI partner and fiancĂ©, Salvatore? The calculus changes when Michael is arrested for murder. When Salvatore refuses to help investigate, Annie is forced to try to find the killer herself. Meanwhile her sister’s creepy husband, Todd, is making more of an ass of himself than usual. Annie's problems with three obsessive men suddenly pale in significance when she realizes the killer has set his sights on her. Having changed his mind about helping her, Salvatore finds himself in a desperate race against time, the only man capable of finding the killer before it’s too late.
