Footprints in the Sand by Mary Jane Clark is an intriguing mystery. Piper Donovan is in Florida for her cousin Kathy's wedding. The place is perfect - the sun, the sand, but when Kathy's friend goes missing, Piper is on the case. After a dead body is found and other mysterious circumstance occur, Piper is determined to find out what is going on before any of it has a chance to ruin the wedding day.
This is a fast-paced thriller with really strong, human characters. Although Piper is not officially a sleuth, she does do a great job at putting all of the clues together and taking the information to the right people. I would definitely read another novel by this author because I find the voice to be perfect for this type of novel.
