About the Author:

The author seems to be a recluse and doesn't accept much from anyone, and is probably very fat, or desperately thin, whatever you may wish to imagine. He is also as handsome as Adonis and ugly. What's more interesting is that he holds a strange fascination with Sparrow and Mister Chase, two protagonists of another adventure. Their fates seemed to be intertwined together. Will you help him make their struggles a reality? ;)

Book Spotlight: The Battle of the Erathiel: Across the Enchanted Sea

Category:

Fantasy/Sci-Fi

Synopsis:

The Battle of the Erathiel: Across the Enchanted Sea is the first volume of a fantasy book series that narrates the many adventures and trials the elven race of the Erathiel.
The elven race of the Erathiel embark on a journey across the Enchanted Sea to find a new home. They have lost everything they held dear because of a terrible wizard, Bragolthar, who destroyed it all. King Thinidiel and Queen Nimtar decide their best option is to abandon their land. With them travel the only remaining dwarves and humans who survived a most gruesome war. They sail on three ships but, alas, are struck by a terrible storm that wounds them dreadfully. One ship is destroyed, the other is lost, and only one makes it to land, a land they are not so keen to call their own, but soon they will discover that there is more to it than they expected. Sadly, the lost ship was captained by the courageous Princess Isilen, whom the Erathiel love dearly. They will do everything they can to find her again.
They reach a mysteriously abandoned port that only fills their minds with questions as they see no civilization nearby, only an endless desert. Princes Camlhach and Valruin lead the company alongside their parents but Valruin, headstrong and young, disobeys and endangers the company by provoking an attack from a group of lizard people who claim to serve the Dark One and that the Erathiel are trespassers in his land. The Erathiel refuse to fight but in the accidental death of the lizards’ leader, they give birth to a new enemy. Strangely, the fallen lizard turns into a human boy upon dying, leaving the Erathiel with even more questions about this new land and its magic.

As they continue their journey, they reach the land of Orodor, just beyond the desert. There they meet the Orach, small golden humans that live in peace and harmony on top of a mountain. They form an alliance and learn the name of their new home: Dôr Annon. They find out who the Dark One truly is: a dark sorcerer by the name of Delufer, who used to rule peacefully over Dôr Annon with his spouse and companion in magic, Queen Yävé, whom the Orach claim still protects their realm. The Dark One, once good, now seeks to rule over all, using his dark magic to corrupt even his own children, the Tacharan, shapeshifters, to do his bidding. Alas, the haven of Orodor is desecrated by the Dark One himself where he causes pain, destruction, and death, taking the Orach's leader, King Intiqué with him. Both the Erathiel and Orach find themselves hopeless and brokenhearted, but thanks to unity and their leaders' faith they decide to take a stand against Delufer, even though the peaceful Orach know nothing of war.

The company is divided but not weakened for one group travels south to the land of the Beithir, who are hunters and warriors, and who they hope will aid them in the stand against the Dark One and his evil ways. The other group stays in Orodor, led by the mighty Lothar and his dwarven allies, Bazur and Nurunn, to teach the Orach to fight and how to forge weapons for the first time in their peaceful lives. Lastly, the third group travels back to the ships to begin the search for Princess Isilen. Young Turion leads the mission, hopeful that he will find the Princess and that the anguish in his heart will cease when he does. Friends and foes, hope and loss will be their constant companions in this journey across the Enchanted Sea.

Constanza Mayer is a Chilean author. Born in Santiago, she spent most of her childhood living in different cities across Chile, until she finally settled down for many years in a small town in the state of Illinois. There, she began her true journey into the realm of fantasy and all things magical—Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, fed her imaginative mind. This is when she began to write her first fantasy novel, but it was sadly lost due to a computer virus. After many years passed, having moved back to Santiago, Chile, she was finally able to write again. This is where "The Battle of the Erathiel" truly began to develop. After almost two years of hard work, and living for a time in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, she finishes the first novel of her series in Santiago on October 29th, 2016. Constanza is an avid reader, a lover of the arts, and a devoted piano player and composer. Among her dreams, she hopes to continue traveling across the world to fill herself with more experiences to write from, as she typically says: “Hay que vivir para poder escribir.” “You must live so that you may write.”
