Review: The Lonesome Young

The Lonesome Young
The Lonesome Young by Lucy Connors

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Lonesome Young is a retelling of not just a Romeo and Juliet type romance, but it also puts a Hatfield-McCoy type twist onto the story. Victoria Whitfield and her family have just moved backed to rural Kentucky where they raise and train race horses. Victoria, having live din the city and at boarding school, knows nothing about the decades long feud of the Whitfield and Rhodale families. But once she meets Mickey Rhodale, she soon finds out just what it is all about.

This was an interesting story, though the parallels of the star-crossed lovers never leave your mind while you are reading it. Other than that, it was an interesting story.
